July Gold (Wild 71) Gold self

MUCH taller and with larger glowing golden blossoms here ... and almost a spidery appearance, this one really stands out and shines in the garden bed!

Khorassan (Whatley 88) Pink and yellow blend with yellow throat

We decided to put two photos in here to illustrate how different the same daylily can look, depending on the light and time of day. Khorassan knocked us out when we first saw the blossoms in person ... creamy-beautiful, and that gold wire edge just sets it off perfectly.

Kiddo (Smith, D 82)  Rose wine with darker wine halo, green throat

Kiddo's a sweetie, a nice shade of raspberry with edge ruffling.

Lady Ilana (unknown) Melon-pink self with glowing orange-yellow throat

A soft tropical sunset embodied in a flower ... smaller, abundant blossoms make a beautiful clump that glows in the garden.

Lemony Snicket (Dhabi's garden name, lost registration) Lemony yellow self, lighter midribs, ruffled edges, green throat

For whatever reason, my camera never does justice to yellow blossoms. Lemony Snicket is just gorgeous, tall, abundant large blossoms, prolific, a standout among yellows.

Lime Frost (Stamile 90)  Cream-pale yellow, green throat; fragrant

Heavy blooms with good substance ... just the name will cool you off on hot latesummer days. Eugene S. Foster Award winner.

Little Grapette (Williamson 70)  Grape self

In the mind of this daylily lover, "grape self" doesn't begin to describe this one. I'd say, deep claret/mulberry with mustardy yellow throat, small blossoms with big impact in a clump. Much better!

12"/2", Early, SE, Dip                                                  $9/dbl fan

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Little Zinger (Lankart 79)  Red self, very green throat
Small blossoms with BIG impact! Nice proportions, and makes an attractive clump; we keep one outside our side door. Donn Fischer Memorial Award Winner.
16"/2.75", Early Mid, SE, Dip                                          $8/dbl fan
      Extend your
      bloom time ...
Choose cultivars with different bloom times -- Early, Mid, Late -- and group them near each other in your garden for a longer season of beautiful blossoms.
If you want to pair two daylilies that would look lovely together, choose cultivars that bloom at the same time of the season.
